Witney Carson is a Latin ballroom dancer from American Fork, Utah currently competing on So You Think You Can Dance (tune in every Wednesday night on Fox!). Before coming on the show she was an 18 year old recent high school graduate and dental assistant intern (I'm not kidding!) In her spare time she plays guitar and drums and enjoys golfing. She also lives in deadly fear of crickets. She has a massive family with over 100 relatives and is a member of the LDS Church (she's a Mormon).

She's been studying dance since she was three, starting with jazz and began learning ballroom when she was nine. Her dance studio is Vibe Dance Studio in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She's worked with superstar choreograpghers like Mark Ballas and Louis Van Amstel and before SYTYCD appeared on the CBS TV series Live To Dance. Her dance idol is SYTYCD and DWTS ballroom dancer Chelsie Hightower, a fellow Utah blond!

Kenny Ortega has compared Witney to Marilyn Monroe. Mary Murphy can't keep her off the Hot Tamale Train.

But her best description has come from Nigel Lythgoe: "You look like a star, you dance like a star, and honey you are a star."
